David has been practicing law in the State of Colorado since 1997. A Colorado native, he grew up in Denver, Colorado and received his undergraduate degree from Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colorado. Always interested in practicing law, he later received a Paralegal Certificate and worked for the Public Administrator of Mesa County helping to settle estates and ensure that family assets and valuables were preserved and distributed to heirs.

David attended Gonzaga University School of Law in Spokane, Washington, and obtained his Juris Doctor in 1996. He came home to Colorado and in 1997, began working for the District Attorney's Office in Trinidad, Colorado, as the County Court Deputy handling all traffic and misdemeanor cases. In 2000, David accepted a position with the District Attorney's Office in Colorado Springs. By 2003 he had attained a management position within the District Attorney's Office and his caseload consisted entirely of homicides. During his tenure he successfully tried several homicides as well as other felony matters and received awards from the District Attorney on three occasions for his trial work. In addition to his courtroom duties, David was responsible for 15 attorneys and the training of new attorneys entering District Court regarding the prosecution of felony cases. In 2007 he left the District Attorney's Office and joined forces with Ken. Since that time he has been practicing in the areas of Personal Injury, Worker's Compensation and Criminal Defense.

Does Getting a Document Notarized Make It "Legal"?
The public's perception of what a notary does and what notarization accomplishes is often incorrect. This is particularly the case when a person brings a document to a notary public to be notarized, thinking that the notarization will in some way "legalize" the document or make it "official." Unmarried? You Are Not Alone, But You Still Need a Plan
Did you know that in many instances, it is even more important that a single person have a well-coordinated estate plan, than a married couple. This is because the default laws governing estates often work poorly for people without a spouse and may not adequately provide for a significant other or unmarried partner. Having a cohesive and well-drafted estate plan will ensure that you protect and provide for those you truly care about upon your death. Learn more here.
When an Adult Needs a Guardian of Property
There are two types of guardianships: a guardianship of the person and a guardianship of the property (also known as a guardianship of the estate or a conservatorship). A guardian of the person is responsible for the ward’s physical safety and well-being. A guardian of the property is responsible for the ward’s money and assets. Learn more here.
