  I was awarded the Spirit of Detroit Award for setting up and operating a pro bono clinic at Mariner's Inn, a residential drug rehabilitation center in downtown Detroit.

• Worthy v. Performance Practice Area: Employment & Labor Date: Apr 04, 2014 Outcome:$1,251,000 judgment Description: I was co-counsel on this case with Kevin Ernst. We obtained a $1,251,000 verdict in employment discrimination case for a warehouse worker who was subjected to vile racially derogatory comments while at work and was ultimately fired for complaining. Grawey v. Clare County Deputy Brad Davis, and Clare City Police Officers Practice Area:Civil Rights Date:Jan 01, 2009 Outcome:567 F.3d 302, 315-316 (6th Cir. 2009) Description: Mr. Grawey was a victim of police misconduct in Clare County. The case was appealed to the Sixth Circuit which issued a published opinion holding that the officers were not entitled to qualified immunity. He reached a confidential settlement. Doe v. Detroit Pub. Schools Case Conclusion Date: 08.21.2014 Practice Area: Employment & Labor Outcome: 2014 Mich. App. LEXIS 1549 (Mich. Ct. App. Aug. 21, 2014) Description: Teacher was fired for allegedly calling students racially derogatory names. I won her teacher tenure appeal and got her reinstated with full back pay. The Michigan Court of Appeals affirmed her reinstatement.
