About Deborah
Deborah de Ponce received her Bachelor's Degree at the University of California and her Masters degree at Yale University. She received her law degree from the University of Washington Law School. She is admitted to practice in the State of Washington and before the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Washington State Bar Association and the King County Bar Association.
Since 2002, Deborah's practice has been dedicated solely to immigration law. She started the Law Office of Deborah de Ponce, PS in 2005. Deborah's practice includes adjustment of status, naturalization, citizenship, family and employment based immigrant and nonimmigrant visas (H-1B, L, E, P, O visas), self-petitions under the Violence Against Women Act, U visas for survivors of crimes, temporary protected status (TPS), humanitarian parole and cancellation of removal. To date she has helped over 300 people gain legal status in the United States.
Deborah aims to provide professional and affordable legal services to all her clients. Deborah dictates a significant amount of time to low bono and pro bono immigration work as well. Each year she has earned the Pro Bono Service Award from the KCBA for doing over 50 hours of pro bon service. Prior to starting her own practice, Deborah worked at the Northwest Immigrants Rights Project and Northwest Justice Project's Refugee Assistance Program.
When not practicing law, Deborah can be found at home in West Seattle with her family. She loves baking, yoga, running and trying to keep up with her daughters. Her other passion in life is travel. Deborah has lived in Mexico and Costa Rica and traveled extensively throughout Asia, Europe and Latin America. She looks forward to adding some new countries to this list some day soon.
Deborah's clients describe her as caring, compassionate, knowledgeable and accessible.
