About Derek
Derek grew up in California, and went clear across the country in 1999 to attend Duke University. He completed two majors there in 2002 (English and Economics), and then headed to the middle of the country to attend the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Even before graduating in 2005, Derek was working in law firms as a clerk and attending depositions, mediation and trial. Trial work is what he has always wanted to do!
After completing law school, Derek worked for various law firms. In 2012, he became a partner at one of Denver's larger firms. In 2017, he started his own firm to deliver excellent results in a personalized manner.
At the end of the day, money/results talk and...well, you know the rest of the saying. Derek has tried cases all over Colorado and prevailed on all but one of them. Derek has also argued before Colorado's Court of Appeals, and even argued before Colorado's Supreme Court (where he won!). Besides trials, Derek has successfully resolved hundreds of cases over his 13 years of experience through negotiations and mediation.
