About Derrick
Derrick A. Dyer practices in the areas of bankruptcy litigation, complex commercial litigation, bankruptcy, insolvency, directors and officers liability litigation. He represents trustees, receivers, corporations, individuals, creditors' committees, secured and unsecured creditors and debtors-in-possession. Mr. Dyer served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Robert D. Martin, Chief Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Wisconsin.
He is an active member with the District of Columbia Bar Association in the Corporation, Finance and Securities Law Section Committees.
Mr. Dyer is a frequent lecturer on the impact of in pari delicto in bankruptcy. Additionally, he authored The Impact of Dilution in Asset Securitization: Commercial Separation Anxiety, in 1997.
He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the Federal Bar for the United States District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of Mississippi, the Western District of Wisconsin, and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Mr. Dyer received his Juris Doctor, in 1994, from the University of Iowa College of Law, where he was a member of the Iowa Law Review. He earned his Bachelor of Arts, in Psychology, from the University of California at Irvine in 1990.
