Dhamian Blue defends people who have been accused of serious federal and state crimes.  He has extensive experience defending criminal prosecutions involving white collar offenses such as health care fraud, tax fraud, mail/wire fraud, counterfeit currency, and identity theft.  He also has defended clients who have been charged with drug trafficking conspiracies, armed robbery, sex crimes, and first degree murder.  Mr. Blue has extensive trial and appellate experience, having obtained favorable results for clients in the United States Supreme Court and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.  In January 2019, in a case litigated and argued by Blue, the Fourth Circuit sitting en banc declared 18 U.S.C. 924(c)(3)(B) unconstitutional.

 

Mr. Blue also maintains a very active civil practice, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in matters of breach of contract, unfair and deceptive trade practices, securities, employment, and catastrophic injury.  He has been recognized by Super Lawyers Magazine for his outstanding work on behalf of his clients.

 

Mr. Blue graduated from Duke University in 2000, double-majoring in Public Policy Studies and Economics.  He graduated from Duke Law School in 2003.  Mr. Blue began his legal career as an associate in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group of Dickstein Shapiro LLP in Washington, D.C. He represented corporate policyholders against insurance companies, gaining significant experience in claims for environmental liability, products liability, professional malpractice liability, and foreign asset expropriation.  

 

Mr. Blue is highly active in the community, and currently serves on the Board of Advisors for Duke Raleigh Hospital and the Board of Directors for the Dix Park Conservancy.  His is a former co-chairman of the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Justice Center and a former member of the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Wake County.
