About Dianne
Dianne K. Le Verrier has ten years of experience representing corporate, private and municipal clients in land use and environmental matters. She works closely with residential and commercial developers to create and present development plans that comply with federal, state and local regulations and ordinances and pursues all necessary appeals. She has served as counsel to Village Boards of Trustees and Boards of Zoning Appeals and as prosecutor, enforcing village ordinances for the Village of Sands Point and Village of Mill Neck.
Ms. Le Verrier provides timely and efficient counsel regarding federal, state and local environmental compliance and enforcement matters concerning: CERCLA, RCRA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, New York State Navigation Law, the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) and Petroleum Bulk Storage. She assists with review of "all appropriate inquires" for Phase I environmental assessments conducted as part of the due diligence process. Ms. Le Verrier also counsels clients in real estate transaction matters such as: brownfields redevelopment, voluntary clean-up agreements and prospective purchaser agreements.
Prior to founding the firm, she represented the County of Suffolk and other municipal water providers, at Weitz & Luxenberg, P.C., in a complex, federal, multi-district litigation involving groundwater contamination caused by the gasoline additive, methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE). Previously, Ms. Le Verrier was an associate at Farrell Fritz, P.C., where she represented corporate, municipal and private clients in all aspects of land use and environmental litigation. She began her environmental career at En-Consultants, Inc., where she represented commercial and residential developers through all phases of development and worked closely with federal, state and local agencies in negotiating development approvals.
Ms. Le Verrier obtained her juris doctor, cum laude, from the Jacob D. Fuchsberg Touro Law Center and was a published member of the Touro Law Review. Her publication, Are Some Polluters More Equal Than Others? A Critique of Caselaw Establishing Preferential Treatment of Federal Potentially Responsible Parties (PRPs) Under CERCLA, 17 Touro L. Rev. 503 (2001), was cited favorably by the Northern District of Ohio in United States v. Chrysler Corp., 157 F. Supp. 2d 849, 860 (N.D. Ohio 2001). Ms. Le Verrier obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Economics from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook.
