About Douglas

Since joining Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman & Goggin in 2002, Doug's areas of practice encompass insurance fraud litigation, insurance defense, and personal injury protection benefits litigation. He has handled approximately 600 personal injury protection medical expense benefits litigation matters in his career to date. Doug has also represented a large number of auto insurance carriers in insurance fraud prosecution and personal injury protection medical expense benefits matters. Throughout his career, Doug has had significant experience, taking over 600 examinations under oath. His extensive knowledge in this area has enabled him to conduct seminars on the subject.

Prior to Marshall Dennehey, he spent four years as the Deputy Attorney General in the Education, Health and Human Services Section at the Division of Law for the Attorney General of New Jersey. In this position, Doug handled complex health, civil rights, and tort defense litigation in federal and state courts while representing the Department of Health and Senior Services, Division of Medical Assistance and Health Services and Division of Mental Health Services. Doug was also counsel to the New Jersey Spinal Cord Injury Commission, the Board of Nursing Home Administrators, and the Department of Human Services' HIPAA Compliance Committee. Prior to becoming a Deputy Attorney General, Doug served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable F. Michael Caruso, J.S.C., Law Division, Superior Court in 1997-1998.

Doug received a B.A. in 1992 from Marist College and graduated with a J.D. in 1997 from the Rutgers School of Law at Camden. Doug is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

  • Allstate New Jersey Ins. Co. v. Cherry Hill Pain & Rehab Institute, 389 N.J. Super. 130 (App. Div. 2007)

  • As a result of filing our Discovery Complaint against a number of medical providers on behalf of our client, a large insurance carrier, the respective medical providers withdrew all of their 55 pending arbitrations within the NAF. The amount contained in the arbitration equaled $147,000.
