About E.
E. Lynn Gibbons decided to be an attorney after prevailing as the prosecuting attorney for the “Goldilocks,” trial in Mr. Tom Haight’s Business Law class at Seminole High School in 1989. She earned her B.A. degree from the University of South Florida in three years in May of 1992. She attended law school at Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, FL and received her Juris Doctor degree in December of 1994. She was admitted by the Florida Bar to practice law in the State of Florida in May of 1995. She is also admitted to practice in the United States Middle District of Florida.
She has limited her practice of law to the representation of injured workers, social security disability claimants and those injured in accidents resulting from the negligence of others. She has never represented an insurance company. She is a member of the Florida Bar, The Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, the St. Petersburg Bar Association Workers Compensation and Social Security sections, and the Workers Compensation section of the Florida Bar. She has been Board Certified by the Florida Bar as a workers' compensation specialist since 2002. Her Certification was renewed in 2008 and again in 2012. She has been certified by the Supreme Court of Florida as Circuit Civil Mediator since 2002. Ms. Gibbons has not lost a workers compensation trial since 2008. Her very first jury trial in a personal injury case resulted in a $2.4 million dollar verdict for her client.
She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and relocated with her family to Florida in 1984. She has been married for 29 years to her husband, Shannon, and has four children, Katie, Reilly, and twins Delanie and Dillan. Her hobbies include fishing, boating, snorkeling, cooking and watching her watching her youngest son, Dillan, play college football. Her daughter, Katie, has followed in her footsteps – earning her B.A. from U.S.F. in two years, and Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law. She now works as an Associate Attorney for the firm. Her son, Reilly, earned his undergraduate degree from U.S.F. while playing football for the Bulls and went on to earn his J.D. from The University of Notre Dame. After working in Big Law for a defense firm in St. Petersburg, Reilly realized that it was his calling to join the family practice and be an advocate for the injured and disabled clients Jorgensen Gibbons represents. One of the twins, Delanie Gibbons, also graduated from U.S.F. and is presently in her third year at Stetson University College of Law. She is working towards an Elder Law certification as she finishes her J.D. next Spring. She intends to join her mother and siblings at Jorgensen Gibbons upon her graduation. Dillan Gibbons is now the starting left guard at Florida State University in his 6th year of eligibility. He is working on his MBA degree while helping the Noles build a standard in the locker room and on the field that will bring them success. He graduated from Notre Dame with a degree in Management Consulting in 2021 and will earn his MBA from F.S.U. in May 2023. Dillan aspires to further his football career in the NFL and to eventually work in Finance or Business Management.
