About Edward

Who I am:

I was born in Akron, Ohio on February 6, 1950.  I attended the University of Akron, graduating with honors in 1972. I also went to law school at the University of Akron and received my law degree in 1975. I am licensed to practice law in all the state courts of Ohio, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

I have been practicing law for 35 years. My areas of concentration are in the following practice areas:

      Probate and Trust Administration

Wills, Trusts and Estate Planning  (From Simple to Sophisticated)

      Eldercare Law

     Guardianships (From Formation to Administration)

Family Law, Including Premarital & Postnuptial Agreements

     Fiduciary and Guardianship Litigation

      Business Problems and Commercial Law

      Real Estate

Municipal Law, Zoning and Land Use (Including Eminent Domain)

      Civil Litigation

How I Will Serve You:

Like all the attorneys at Slater & Zurz, LLP , I am focused on my clients and protecting their best interests. By focusing on the practice areas of probate and estate planning within my areas of concentration, I have the unique privilege of developing very long term relationships with clients to help them properly prepare and plan for major life events that lie ahead. I feel it's very important to concentrate on the individual needs of every client, thoroughly educate and inform them and deliver them positive results.

Why I Practice Law:

My parents were older when I was born and I saw them face many issues involved with preparing for their golden years, dealing with elderly challenges, protecting their estate and legacy. This was one of the factors that inspired me to become a lawyer and when I did, I began assisting individuals from all walks of life with probate and estate planning concerns. I have found my individualized attention to my clients very challenging as well as rewarding. I have also enjoyed my involvement with people as the legal counsel for various governmental entities.
