About Elaine
Elaine N. Chou, born in San Luis Obispo, California, was admitted to the New York Bar in 1996. Ms. Chou obtained her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 1995, and a B.A. in International Studies from the Johns Hopkins University in 1992.
Ms. Chou has substantial litigation experience in multiple practice areas, including Labor Law, multi-party commercial disputes, insurance coverage, defamation, subrogation, personal injury, real estate, medical malpractice, broker malpractice and class actions. She has successfully defended companies large and small in a variety of matters from inception through conclusion. Ms. Chou has conducted trials, arbitrations and mediations, and has considerable appellate experience, having drafted and argued appeals before the New York State Appellate Division, First and Second Departments. Recent published decisions include Colozzo v. National Center Foundation, 817 N.Y.S.2d 256 (1st Dep’t 2006) and White v. Mount Saint Michael Academy, 837 N.Y.S.2d 873 (1st Dep’t 2007).
