About Elizabeth

Elizabeth Jensen is a member of the firm at Kavanagh, Scully, Sudow, White & Frederick, P.C..  Beth was admitted to the practice of law in Illinois in 1994.  She concentrates her practice in municipal law, school law, labor and employment law, and appellate practice.

Before joining the firm in 2007, Beth served as a Law Clerk to Third District Appellate Court Justice Daniel L. Schmidt.  Prior to the law clerk position, Beth was an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Peoria .  Beth is licensed to practice law before all State courts in Illinois and the Central and Northern U.S. District Courts of Illinois.

Beth received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History, cum laude, from Albion College in 1990, and her Juris Doctorate degree from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law in 1993.

Beth currently serves as a Board of Governor for the Illinois State Bar Association.  She also is a Board of Director for the Illinois Bar Foundation, serving as Chairperson of the Grants Committee as well as their Fellows Program.  Beth also is a Board of Director of the Heart of Illinois Regional Port District.  She has served on the Illinois Comptroller's Merit Commission and Local Government Advisory Board, as well as the City of Peoria 's Neighborhood Commission.

Beth has also been an active member of the Peoria County Bar Association, serving as Board member and Chairperson of many committees.  She is a Master member of the Abraham Lincoln Inn of the American Inns of Court.  She has served on the Leadership Committee for the annual fundraising campaign for Prairie State Legal Services since 2000.  Beth also volunteers as an advocate for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault for the Center for Prevention of Abuse for which she served as a Board of Director, including President of the Board during the agency's $4.2 million capital campaign.

Beth has received the Judi Lasco Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award from the Center for Prevention of Abuse, the Charles C. Schink Good Government Award, as well as the 40 Leaders Under 40 Award.

Beth and her husband have two young boys.
