About Eric

Eric is an attorney licensed to practice in Pennsylvania State Courts as well as in the Federal District Courts. A 1994 graduate of Creighton University School of Law in Omaha, Nebraska, Eric left his work as a land-use planner and attended law school after receiving a settlement in his own malpractice action against a negligent doctor. The doctor's failure to undertake appropriate diagnostic testing nearly cost Eric his life. He decided then and there that if he ever recovered he would fight for the rights of others, who, through no fault of their own, were injured due to negligence and neglect.
Immediately after graduation, Eric was hired by the very same personal injury law firm that had helped him years earlier. For nearly a decade he worked side by side with the firm's founder and senior advocate on cases involving motor vehicle accidents, maternal and infant deaths at birth, chemical poisoning, dog bites and a broad range of other medical and legal malpractice cases. Eric departed in 2000 to pursue his own private practice in Erie, Pennsylvania. Today, the law firm of Rohde & Jennings continues to build its tradition of personal service and respect for the client.
More than 20 years after Eric was injured by his own doctor's neglect, he has come full circle to help others just like him and in so doing is "changing the way people think about lawyers:, one person at a time.
In addition to helping victims of negligence, Eric has developed a practice in business law and finance, real estate development, as well as venture capital and commercial lending. He is an advisor to businesses and entrepreneurs, particularly in the area of technology start-up companies. He is an Emeritus member of the Board of the Edinboro University Foundation and a member of the Erie County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations.
A proud father of two and longtime resident of Edinboro, Pennsylvania, he is active in the community, and spends as much time as he can outdoors with his family and friends. He can often be found wading the streams and creeks of Pennsylvania with a fishing pole.
