About Evan

Evan Hoffman of The Hoffman Firm has built his legal career on protecting the rights of individuals across Florida, drawing on more than 17 years of criminal trial experience. He began in 1998 as an Assistant State Prosecutor with the Broward County State Attorney’s Office, where he handled over 100 jury trials and more than 120 non-jury trials involving charges such as battery, possession of a controlled substance, and DUI.

After years as a prosecutor, Hoffman shifted his focus to criminal defense, using his insight into prosecutorial strategies to advocate for clients throughout Miami and the surrounding areas. He founded The Hoffman Firm with the belief that knowledge and experience are the strongest defense.

Hoffman has authored articles on DUI, domestic violence, and illegal searches and seizures. In 2016, he identified a critical flaw in a DUI breath test machine — an error that led to the dismissal of his client’s charges and revealed that dozens of individuals had been wrongfully convicted. His work was featured by Channel 10 Eyewitness News.
