About Faith
Faith A. Friedman joined the Lefcourt firm as an associate in 2006. She has over 10 years of experience practicing almost exclusively in the areas of criminal defense and white collar criminal defense at both the state and federal levels, during which she has been associated with several highly regarded members of the criminal bar. Throughout her career, Ms. Friedman has represented individuals and corporations charged with securities fraud, mail and wire fraud, tax evasion, money laundering, RICO, labor racketeering, trademark counterfeiting, diverting, extortion, embezzlement, bid rigging, political corruption, gambling, vehicular manslaughter, assault, narcotics offenses, and driving while intoxicated. She has argued before the Appellate Division Second Department and trial courts, participated in arguments before both the New York State Court of Appeals and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and submitted petitions to the United States Supreme Court. Ms. Friedman has been actively involved in both state and federal trials from inception to verdict.
Over the course of her career, Ms. Friedman has enjoyed a number of successful outcomes at both the trial and appellate levels in state and federal matters involving civil and criminal issues, including: United States v. Gigante (dismissal of federal indictment on statute of limitations grounds of first impression in the district); Cordero v. Epstein (dismissal of complaint after hearing); United States v. Mancuso (dismissal of federal indictment for pre-indictment delay); and People v. Miley (breathalyzer test results suppressed in manslaughter prosecution). She has also effectively negotiated agreements not to prosecute and other favorable outcomes in various criminal and civil matters.
Ms. Friedman received her B.A. from Binghamton University and her Juris Doctor from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law as a student in the Accelerated Entry Program. While at Cardozo, she participated in the Innocence Project, investigating and litigating innocence claims by incarcerated individuals throughout the United States. She also served as a judicial intern to The Honorable Frederick Block, United States District Judge for the Eastern District of New York.
Ms. Friedman is admitted to practice in New York and United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
