Horrible experience. I will start this review by mentioning that this is the only negative review I can recall posting on the internet, ever. I am also posting it under my full name as to not hide behind an anonymous user name. I am a physician who runs a large medical practice. I clearly recognize the boundaries of reasonable and unreasonable expectations when it comes to providing and receiving a professional service. The service I received through Attorney Andersen's practice is, at its absolute best, poor. I used Attorney Arthur Andersen for the purchase of a home in 2006. The closing went smoothly. A couple of years later, I discovered that the driveway of the home crossed over the property line. I called Attorney Andersen no less than 10 times over a two week period of time to discuss this issue and how to rectify it. His secretary told me that he was in town and would call me back. I never received a call in two weeks. Ultimately, I had to hire another attorney to deal with the issue which involved formation of an easement. Now I am attempting to sell the home and, in the process, have discovered there is an issue with the title that involves an order of conditions placed on the property by the town conservation committee. This amounts to a lien which prevents the sale of the home until it is resolved. I again called him. He again did not call me back. This time I drove to his office. When I arrived he clearly heard me talking to his secretary but did not come out. I left then returned a moment later with a question. When I returned, he was in the hall talking to the secretary about the issue. When I approached, he had complete disregard and took no responsibility for the problem. He advised me of things that I should do such as making phone calls to various town offices and the builder, but offered to do nothing himself. He reluctantly agreed to pull the file from storage although would not give me any time line as to when he would do so. He clearly does not share my sense of urgency as this is not his problem. I am posting this very negative review in hopes of making this his problem and in hopes that doing so will alert others out there to use a different attorney to guide you through the real estate purchase and sale process.
