Honestly, the place to buy camera and video equipment. The prices often beat Amazon, and the staff is highly knowledgeable. Everyone is friendly there.nnThey got a cool, overhead conveyor belt thingy moving the items around so you don't even have to carry them with you. It's waiting for you at checkout.nnTheir computer department has some great items, but the selection is not as great as other shops such as Micro Center.

I went here last week to find computer parts for my son. The service is outstanding once you walk in, from the greeter to the sales associates roaming the floors. Joe in the computer section was so courteous and helpful. He was able to help me find the pieces I need and offer great recommendations! Patient and polite, I will definitely be back to buy more! Hands down, this place is a photographer's wet dream. I could spend hours browsing in this store, and it's worth a trip if you are in Manhattan. Here's some helpful tips, if you have never been:nn- The store is closed for all Jewish holidays. The holidays are prominently posted on their website and storefront, but be sure to check before making a trip out there. nn- The layout of the store is easy to follow with clear signage. Be sure to have an idea of what you want to see when you go in, however, or you may become distracted by the massive stock. nn- Don't skip the used gear counter on the second floor. Lots of great deals here. nn- When you are ready to purchase an item, an employee will enter the request into their system which will send the item down a conveyor belt to the registers downstairs. You will pay FIRST and then go to a separate line to pick your item up. You can also have products shipped to your home from the store if you are coming from out of state or prefer not to lug a new lighting system on the subway. nn- The employees are photo/video nerds. They know their stuff. So be sure to ask questions!

They had a specific accessory I couldn't find after looking several other places in Manhattan. A friendly and knowledgeable fellow helped me ensure I was purchasing the right thing. I also got a kick out of their unique checkout system. The place is a spectacle. I'd recommend going there to buy something even if you could find another store closer to you.

I bought my laptop here instead of Amazon because it was cheaper. Just stating that off the bat cuz that's valuable information. nnB&H is a funny place, with all their conveyor belts and exits and entrances. But I was able to come in 30 minutes before closing and get some help with some last minute questions I had. More importantly, I was able to test drive a much larger selection of laptops in person than I was at Best Buy, where after giving a salesman the cold shoulder incredulously asked me "You're still here?!". I hate you Best Buy, so. much. B&H has budget laptops, they have reasonably price laptops with great specs, they don't just carry the the most expensive lines and present them as if that's your only choice. I don't know of another place where you can play with so much options under one roof. nnI ended up leaving that night without a laptop, only to order it off their website the very next day. I wish I could remember the name of the salesman who helped me, I will definitely be back for future electronics purchases.
