Tim Johnson defended me in my protection order, restraining order case. It was a challenging case with witnesses and evidence against me that dragged out through 3 court appearances. Tim Johnson blew me away with his expertise and knowledge of the law, he was actually able to educate the Judge in the process. Ultimately his expert guidance and thorough knowledge of the law, along with so many years of experience won my case for me. I was impressed by the compassion, professionalism, and aid I received from Mr. Bagley and his excellent staff, so when my life took a devastating turn I knew which firm to go to for help. I am currently in the middle of a complicated divorce with two kids and a Dependency and Neglect case. Charles Liken and his paralegal, Jackie Bond, have been available and by my side every step of the way. Both are organized and excellent at communicating with me. Charles Liken has gone above and beyond to guide me through this difficult season and fight for my kids. They apeared to be a great fit at the beginning. I debated writing this but I want to warn other single parents going through custody or divorces battles who don't have thousands of dollars to pay a lawyer. Soon after agreeing to terms I noticed some red flags but I give people the benefit of the doubt. Right off the bat, Robin, the paralegal, seemed to have too much on her plate and issues regarding my case were forgotten or I would receive duplicate emails asking for information after I had already sent it. If you're familiar with a legal case, you are charged for every minute. She cost me extra money. I did make my complaints known but still had to deal with her for a while before finally getting switched to another paralegal. My lawyer accidentally sent a very personal email to my ex that was intended for me, I would have never known if he didn't forward it to me- it did not make us look good at all. I liked Lauren's personality which is why I thought she'd be a great fit. I chose her because her rates were lower and she assured me we could get my custody/divorce case settled for under the $5,000 retainer. A couple months into my case, I noticed on my invoice that her rates were raised $75 an hour. Apparently they reserve the right to change their rates at any time without advising clients. After my retainer was quickly gone, they called and asked for another $4,000 retainer and that they needed it by the end of the week. They were not willing to negotiate or let me pay by month because the "owner" of the firm was asking for it. We sat in court mandated mediation and I received no counsel at all, only my lawyer asking my thoughts on everything. I had to ask her for advice after every email from opposing counsel. One time I was told she would look into it later and I still never received any advice on that issue. Apparently she also left the firm at the end of my journey and I was never told. She forgot an important piece of detail, which ended up costing me hundreds more to follow up on to get a concrete answer. I do not feel like I was represented well at all and if I could go back, I would choose a difference firm. They were a waste of time and a lot of money.
