My family's experiences with Barry Siegel and team were far less than satisfactory. I must say we all feel some responsibility for this outcome ourselves so I'm writing this to give guidance to anyone who is considering hiring this group for any type of estate or LTC planning and medicaid preparation. I think they are things that should be considered no matter what selection you make for legal counsel. nn#1. Do not provide payment for services without something in writing that states exactly what you are receiving for that payment. We went to this firm under duress and made first payment only to find it covered half of what was discussed and needed. Another payment was required to complete the planning needed. This firm sold us on having a fee for service. Based on occurrences we may have done better with a firm that billed by the hour. nn#2. Do not buy in to any type of representation that your loved one will have an advantage for placement in any of the LTC facilities or other representations along these lines. You will be disappointed as my family was.nn#3. Should circumstances change because of passing of your loved one, where as nothing was completed that was agreed to during consultation visits, do not expect a refund for incomplete work. Though there was an offer to provide additional services to the family, this was not acceptable to in our minds. I'm so glad we were referred to Barry Siegel and his firm to prepare our Trusts, Wills and other docs. He took his time clearly explaining what we might need and why, then left the decisions up to us. No pressure at all. nHe and his staff were friendly, proffessional and accomodating to our schedules.
