Christopher and Javier are nothing short of amazing. Unfortunately I have more experience with divorce than I'd like to admit and so I'm no stranger to the process or what to look for in a legal team. I interviewed several firms specializing in family law. Most were not available when I needed them and gave the impression that I was just another billable hour. On first consult Christopher took my call immediately. At no charge he provided his phone number for 24/7 access (which he's lived up to). I made the poor choice of retaining another firm. When my ex hit me hard with legal documentation the firm I retained was slow and unavailable. I then called Chris and he addressed my questions on the spot. I retained him on the spot and haven't regretted it since.
If you are thinking of using Rao & Pierce, now "Beacon," THINK AGAIN! This expensive mistake could cost you everything. They are It will cost you an enormous amount of money, with no successful outcome. Extremely unprofessional, and unorganized. Deadlines- missed, multiple times. A deadly sin, as an attorney. If the deadline is missed, all can be lost. Paperwork, was submitted late, past deadline, and NOT DISCLOSED TO ME! I discovered this at the courthouse while going through my case. Attorneys should be transparent, and keep their clients informed of imperative information. Do not suffer my fate. Check ALL reviews from the web. Last I looked, Rao- now Beacon, was rated 2.3 out of 5 stars.
I never thought I'd be the person writing a review for a bankruptcy attorney, but here I am. I am the custodial father of two amazing boys, one of whom required expensive medical treatment. There were other problems that turned up, a wife with cancer, and some personal emotional situations which were compounded by bills piling up. Not to be too dramatic, but the quality of my life was slowly being drained into a dark, financial hole. Frankly, I was so myopic about my social status and the fear and stigma of bankruptcy, that instead of being pragmatic, I maintained the substandard, financial status quo of my dire situation. They say that if you put a frog in hot water it will instantly jump out, but if you put it in cold water and turn up the heat a little at a time it will stay there until it dies. That was my situation until I sat down with Kim from Rao & Pierce. My first meeting was informative and respectful. We discussed my situation and my impulse to feel shame was quickly eased into a productive and thoughtful plan on how to get out of the mess I was in. She was friendly and professional and eased me through the process in a thoughtful, attentive matter. I never felt that my questions were stupid, nor did I feel rushed or like I was wasting her time. In fact, the entire process happened in a way that I could handle and as we approached date I felt more and more secure in my decision to start a new. Bankruptcy is a serious matter and even though I have some regrets, I wouldn't have had the opportunity to begin reconstructing my financial life in a way that helps me and my children recover from a crazy few years in the past. In fact, this is what the bankruptcy laws were written for. I highly recommend Kim and Rao & Pierce to anyone in a similar situation.
Unprofessional. Unethical. Unscrupulous. This firm will prolong your case for the sole purpose of taking your money. Christopher Rao is an incompetent excuse maker. Frequent staff turnover and illnesses are frequent given as excuses for delays that do a disservice to clients. Double check your invoices as this firm will bill double bill and insist that their billing is accurate. Even the staff encourage clients to seek other representation.
Christopher Rao is brilliant and he helped me and my girls we are forever grateful.
