I would highly recommend against hiring this firm from having been represented by Kasey Dunton. In my opinion, Kasey was not competent as an attorney for my case. At the court hearing, he said very little while opposing counsel dominated the conversation. Kasey was like a deer in the headlights. He suggested against points I wanted to include that may have been critical to winning the case. He was very difficult to communicate with and his follow-up was horrendous. After I fired him, he did not forward me any subsequent attorney communications from the other side causing further delays. He implied that he received 1 email and later the opposing attorney forwarded me multiple emails that Kasey never forwarded to me. I would have been way better off representing myself.

I have a highly complex case and had hired quite a few firms before I finally engaged Bechtel Dunton Family Law Group. Kasey and Marie are top family counsels in the Bay Are-they do serious legal work and deliver real results. There are numerous things that make them stand out from other firms: a. Kasey Dunton and Marie Bechtel are extremely knowledgeable in family codes and the application of them in cases with few precedents. This made them able to handle high-stake cases with competence and finesse while other firms have to resort to outside experts for legal research for complex cases. b. Both Kasey and Marie are considered to be reasonable and reputable by both the judges and other counsels in the family court system in Santa Clara county. This is instrumental and invaluable for finding resolution towards hard-to-resolve cases. c. Their firm is a full-service law firm, covering both litigation and appellate law. Having a firm that is able to go all the way to the appellate court provide client with a "one-stop-shop", which avoids duplicate work and reduce costs. d. Kasey and Marie are transparent and don’t play games. They would give clients options and explain the potential consequences of those options while other firms would employ various tactics to pressure clients into accepting what they considered to be the "right" option. e. Kasey and Marie have great integrity both legally and personally: they would tell truth rather than lies and they wouldn't overcharge clients for endless legal research. f. Kasey and Marie practice law with heart. Parties in family proceedings tend to get carried away with emotions; therefore leading to irrational decisions that could be counterproductive for all parties involved. Kasey and Marie's genuine care for clients would lead to sustainable solution that benefits all parties in the long run. I learned in a hard way that it is more important to engage a competent yet unpretentious firm like Bechtel & Dunton than to hire swanky firms staffed by droves of “politicians”, but I am happy that I finally found and worked with Kasey and Marie.

Slow and no plan to help win any problem was my experience, just barely keeps up with the needed paperwork and that's often weeks past your expectation. I felt it was a waste of my time and money I'd keep looking... if you expect service equal to a department store you'll be disappointed.
