The closing on a property in Chesnee, SC. was timely and efficient. We did mail in closing because of distance. The attorney and notary were both knowledgeable and kept on task which saved time. All questions were given time to be answered. Highly recommend this firm for professional property closings.
Closing experience was good, they were efficient and even give you a beer after. Cool little photo booth if you're into that to commemorate your closing. Diligence and advice on title fell short. Surveyor highlighted a utility line in the back yard, we asked the closing attorney to look into the possibility of an easement since none was noted on the property survey. Asked if there were any restrictions on erecting a fence around the property and was told no. Electric co. then sent a demand letter for me to remove the fence and I got the run around on legal advice from B.C., told "no one wins against the public utilities in SC." I get that things get missed, but they didn't even offer to look into it - just referred me to the title insurance co. who referred me to the surveyor who referred me back to Blair Cato. Even if they would've charged me to do a deeper title search, I would've probably ponied up the hourly fee, but it's bad business to make a mistake and make no effort to help - especially in your supposed area of expertise. Silver lining, thanks to them I am now way more aware of what to look out for in real estate transactions, and I make sure I do my own title searching as well and ask better clarifying questions on my real estate closings.
