They took the time to listen to my dilemma and responded to the emotion of my experience. First of all I'm shocked I didn't do this sooner and that it didn't occur to me to add a review until now but the lack of trust and dishonesty from this law firm is coming back to haunt me now and I felt others should know before doing business here. My tale with Burgos & Associates begins in 2013. I was rear ended in a car accident that left me with severe sciatic nerve pain. I was referred to the firm by my mother who had experience working directly with Mr. Burgos but due to lack of availability my case was handled by Dan Ivory. Although I provided test results from medical evaluations I had done prior to working with the firm about this accident, Mr. Ivory was very reluctant to believe that I was suffering from my injuries as whenever we met for our appointments he would repeatedly advise that he was "watching the way I walked" even though I'd advise him multiple times that the pain would not be a complete constant but would more so build up as I walked but would only take moments before experiencing excruciating pain. I would have to repeat this maybe 10x in the time I worked with him. He directed me to a chiropractic dr that the firm worked with and advised me to go there several times a week but did not advise on a quota on how many times to go - just to go until it feels better while he worked with the other party's insurance. Since my health insurance refused to cover expense from medical treatments because it was related to a car accident (thanks Humana), I was not able to proceed with any other courses of treatment. Unfortunately, I was not experiencing any positive results from the chiropractic care and as we reached the end of the case, Mr. Ivory then advised me that I had basically extinguished all money from damages because of excessive visits to the chiropractor so he had to work with them to reduce the overall charges but leaving me with practically nothing after fees with the firm and dr. He advised me that for continued treatment through my health insurance I could just call the insurance company and advise them there is no more money and they will have to cover any further chargers but no official documentation was required to prove this. The question immediately raised to me was why didn't he tell me this from the beginning. I saw this to essentially be a scam between the firm and their partner dr to take as much of the damages for themselves as possible since he provided me no information on how long I should see the dr but just until I felt better even though I later learned from my actual dr I was able to visit after speaking with my health insurance that the proper form of treatment was physical therapy or a surgical operation. Mr. Ivory was dishonest with me from the beginning and in my opinion due to his reluctancy in believing my pain did not seek to fight for my best interests. After doing physical therapy for as long as I could with my insurance (only limited number of visits allowed) I was able to improve to a certain point but now several years later the pain has returned and I am basically back to square one with very limited mobility. Had I been doing the right treatment from the start maybe the results would have been better but I know now I will not be working with Burgos & Associates again and if anyone does decide to, do not work with Dan Ivory.
