We started collecting toys for the children of deployed soldiers a few years ago. We did it to help Tampa Bay Area military families. It kind of blew up. Publicity, social media, soon others wanted to help or participate. People wanted to donate. I decided to form a non profit. No idea how to do it. A friend recommended Carla. Turns out, she worked for a non profit while in law school! Details are what slow me down. But Carla plowed thru the regulations, navigated the federal requirements, and in a few short months “Operation Toy Soldier” was a 5013c non profit. It’s gotten much bigger than I ever dreamed and we owe it to Carla Turner-Hahn.
