I hired Mr. Checketts as my attorney for my last two adoptions and also to draft some paperwork for me. I am very pleased with his services. He was quick to respond to my needs and questions, was very knowledgeable, and very professional. But most of all, I knew he cared. He even took care of an urgent matter outside of normal business hours. For the first adoption, the courts made a really big mistake, which we discovered when we (and 20 friends) arrived at the courthouse. I was told by my caseworker that our baby’s adoption hearing was most likely going to need to be rescheduled. She said she had had this issue happen once before, and it was not able to be resolved the same day. Mr Checketts went to work to do whatever he could to get the issues fixed for us. (To be clear, the issue was completely the fault of the courthouse and Mr. Checketts was not at fault for the problem.) He knew how sad we were going to be if we couldn’t finalize our adoption that day. He totally came through for us. Because of him, everything got worked out and we were able to adopt our son that day and celebrate with those who were in attendance with us. I’m confident that things would not have worked out this way had we had a different lawyer. You can see why we hired him again for our next adoption! I’ve always been very happy with anything he’s done for us and I recommend him wholeheartedly.
