Debra G. Simms, Pa, Orlando Office

My family and I had 2 trust and all of our legacy planning done by Debra Simms. She was very patient and informative. Very pleased with the overall experience and her courteous staff.

Avoid: Office is not well-organized and blows off meetings at the last minute! Our phone appt was today at 1:30, which came and went without a call from Ms. Simms' office. When her assistant finally figured out my phone number (which is at the bottom of every email I've ever sent Ms. Simms), the assistant called me, 40 minutes late, and asked for my mother-in-law. Said she had been calling a different number, but no one was answering. Yes--that's because your appointment was with me and my husband, not my mother-in-law (also a client). Assistant also said she had emailed and someone had replied--but it wasn't me! And my mother in law does not use email, as she's practically blind. So who was the office emailing about my business, thinking it was me? The assistant then became very defensive, insisting, "Well, my calendar entry just says, 'Moetz phone call,' and the only person with that name in my file is her." And I said, "Yes, we were going to be new estate planning clients, but it seems that your office doesn't have its details together, so I think we will need to find another attorney." Cherry on top: the assistant retorted, "Great idea!" and hung up. If you're seeking a law office that treats you with respect, keeps accurate records, and values your time, you will definitely want to keep looking!

My only experience with this office was a phone call. I chose to reach out based on a report showing free consultations. After two minutes on the phone explaining my situation, the receptionist said it would be $175 to speak with Mrs. Simms regarding the case. After I explained it did not sit well with me to be charged a fee to find out pricing, the receptionist became very rude. She told “well she needs to get information”. Okay but THAT is what the consultation is for, right? And when I told her I wasn’t okay with paying that she said “okay bye” and hung up the phone. Two stars as my experience was not with Mrs. Simms herself.

the worst and rude attorney . go some where else if you need a decent service .

Attorney Debra Simms reflected her extensive experience and knowledge in providing guidance to my husband and to me in updating our wills and estate plans. While I have been a permanent resident of Fla. for many years, his home in NY was sold, and he became a permanent resident. Without an update, and recommendations on our estates, there could have been substantial issues down the line. Many thanks to Debra and her staff.
