I attended Graduate school at Hofstra in the late 80s, early 90s... absolutely loved my experience here. I've been at the same profession for almost 30 years and have had a prosperous and exciting life, mostly due to the phenomenal education I received here. I'm very glad I attended when I did. I have so many really great memories. I would not want to attend today, with all these offended snowflakes.
Awesome campus. Student Center is a fantastic venue for Inbecon Art Show. I had a breakfast sandwich at the cafe there. It was cooked to order and very good.
Class of 2012 here. Hofstra was a miserable place when I was a student there, and they basically set me up for financial ruin. First, keep in mind that in 2017, Hofstra, a non-profit, tax-exempt organization, brought in more than a half a BILLION dollars in revenue, according to their Form 999. They pay their president a million-dollar salary plus perks while horribly abusing the actual educators. Also, he's unreachable because his office is atop a golden elevator that's guarded at all times. #EducationnnHofstra misrepresented my financial aid package every semester I was there, and when I graduated I had twice the debt I was told I'd have. By the time I finish paying, I'll have spent almost $200,000 on my degree. And let me assure you, the jobs ain't paying that much.nnSpeaking of jobs, when I called the career services office for help because my current job's at a dead-end and I'm having trouble finding a new one in my field, the office refused to speak to me unless I paid them. They won't offer their alums career services, but they're SUPER quick to send me donation requests. Because a half a billion is just not covering it I guess (and the half billion isn't counting the $35 million they got in donations last year, before you @ me).nnHonestly, go to a state school. Farmingdale State is 15 minutes from Hofstra and you can get a 4-year degree there for the cost of 1 year at Hofstra. Whatever positive academic experience I had has been completely overshadowed by the fraud and nonsense this place pulled. Don't ruin your future. Stay away from Hofstra.
This College is outstanding. My Uncle is an alumni here. Great place to learn, and the basketball games make you feel like you're at the NBA. Must try this place out.
the teachers and academics are really great, the environment on campus is amazing. Everyone you meet is super involved and interesting. The food is pricy and not super amazing but there are so many places around campus to enjoy.
