Donald R Holben & Associates Apc

Reviews

Find another one, cheap and not uptodate law office and changing attorneys every other month. Don charged attorney of record more than 5 times all was old retired or shady with NO experience twisted cheap lawyers in my case for 2 years.
We are very happy that we retained Don Holben & Associates to represent us in an employment discrimination suit. Mr Holben and his team, especially Seana Scholtemeyer, provided excellent and timely advice on how to approach the case. After an initial consultation, they prepared and filed the notices necessary to make the complaint. As with all professional services, communications is essential and throughout the year-long process Don and his team stayed in touch and kept things moving towards a conclusion. Finally, Don and Seana set up and attended a mediation session with us where the case was settled to our satisfaction without having to go to court. We highly recommend Don Holben & Associates and would use them again should the need ever arise.
Cast all of legal burden to his legal team. After all, the issues will settle down and be resolved by their efforts. Their legal skills are efficient and effective. They can figure out what to do and save you from your worrisome. There is always a way to solve the problems. I had issues on ex-employee who claims all kind of allegations which were exaggerated and false claims. But they sort out the problems and took a right path. Finally they reduced from 200k demand to undisclosed amount. Let Don Holben team is your refuge and strength, and help in trouble. Hope for the best and carry on!
it's all bad. There is no good people skills or customer service. If you want to be left in the dark about your case then it will happen. The more you ask for clarification on anything the more rude they will become. If you try to set an appointment their receptionist will tell you they do not have access to attorneys schedule therefore they can't make an appointment. As far as their contract, he will speed you through the process and he will tell you it doesn't apply to you. Soon as you sign is when the rudeness begins. I decided to settle because I was tired of being lied to by the attorney assigned to case. Ask for the person I sat down with at consultation with and it didn't improve. Didn't get worse but it did not improve. I had to post a review of how I was being treated for them to contact and they only cared about review. I had him on speaker twice where others overhead him say I need to change review in order for him to continue. He will undoubtedly respond about the contract as he does with everyone who leaves and HONEST and TRUTHFUL review. I paid him and I got more from another case from an attorney whom I did not give a retainer. One thing he really emphasizes is the termination clause in the contract. It's like they go out their way to get the client to fire them so they can collect another $1000 something. Then there's the 15 hold they put on your money. Something he doesn't and I mean he doesn't explain it until you settle. He will say he does but no he doesn't. So if you're reading this at least now you know. There's so much more but I'm done. I just want to get settlement and forget about this place. One thing their attorney is good at is talking client down on settlement amount.
This firms seemed to be knowledgeable. Everyone I worked with was genuinely nice. I would recommend them if you felt comfortable with two satisfiers. 1- Estimates. I would ask them to put estimates in writing. In my case the cost were 7x what they verbally quoted. 2- Communication. Initially I spoke with one person, and another worked on my case. While I did not pay for the initial conversation, I might as well have. Lot of information was not communicated to the second person. We had lost of mistakes and errors on the demand letter draft. All the revisions cost $. Take a lot of notes. I would ask them to repeat back action items from calls. That will prevent the errors and additional billing.
