Mislead me … Told him of my issues with previous attorney …. Paid him like $300 for initial phone consult .. Then $4500 retainer … 1 month goes by , he did not work 1 bit on my case , not reach out to me … Didn’t even file his “appearance”… Then told me that , he wouldn’t introduce evidence of forgery on the will (which was the very reason i fired my previous attorney)… So , I was basically back where I started … And (according to him ) out over $3,000 in legal services … For basically 1.5 hours of phone time & another 6 hrs of “supposed” work … Not even one document filed with the courts … So out of the $4800 given to this attorney … I was returned $1300… Basically charged $3500… For having a “pen pal”…. Who I spoke to like 3 times @ half hour intervals …. Then when I questioned some of the charges and asked for an explanation; They said they would not charge me for a letter he drafted with his “opinion”…. I said I did not need to see, what he told me, over the phone, in writing !!! Just so they could charge me 1/2 hour worth of his time (which he bills @ $450 per hour)… They assured me that they would remove the 1/2 hour of charges ($225)…… But when they did …. The charges came out to be the same ????!!! As they “inflated” the charges somewhere else …. Or “found” something else that they “forgot” to charge me for ?!?!! In all a horrible experience & I felt I was taken for a “ride” / fleecing …..

I hired Attorney Julie Halaby in October 2020, to represent me in a contentious matter with my employer. The matter involved termination of my employment and subsequent defamation of my character.
