Tobe Lev represented me against a company that terminated when I requested to be allowed to use a wheelchair or walker following a major injury. The day after I was discharged from orthopedic rehab, I was sitting at my desk starting my day when I was informed I wouldn't be permitted to return to my sedentary position until the walker or wheelchair were no longer needed. Once the company realized the liability they'd left themselves open for a discrimation suit; they changed their story, stating I was terminated for poor performance; without basis, or records of any performance related meeting with management. Tobe thoroughly researched the rights of temporarily injured employees-further complicated by my being within my three month new hire probationary period when I was terminated. I was in this office almost two hours on our first appointed as he listened to my initial statement, asked question, took copious notes and filled out my associated ADA on the spot. As time progressed, Tobe never failed to update me with status reports, and responded to my questions with patience. He was a true advocate for me in the most exact definition. He was more than generous with his time, and very fair with his compensation. Tobe finished by advising me on how best to respond to questions from the friends who were supporting me through the process. While this was an specific experience, not likely to recur; I would unhestitatingly engage his services, if needed, and strongly encourage others to do the same.
Terrible firm. Tried to work out reasonable options and didn’t want to work with me. Some have very nasty attitude problems and a sense of entitlement they think they deserve. Heidi was a little discriminating towards me because of my skin color. Definitely would not recommend.
In October I sent my information to this law firm of Egan, Lev, Lindstrom and Siwica was if they would take my case. I called several times just to see if the firm would take my case. I called 4 Times and got the same message, the Attorneys are very busy. I got a call back from one of the attorneys the morning of November 28th, 2017 who was VERY, VERY HARD RUDE. Then went further to tell me I don’t have a case. Then the attorney asked me why I didn’t get in contact with an attorney in Gainesville. I told him no one would take my case. He then says again you don’t have a case. I told him, sorry to have bothered you and he just hung up. I know the law office is busy, I know they may handle big cases but being RUDE is unacceptable. I know I don’t have a BIG MONEY making case but it seems like lawyer now don’t want to be bothered with the small people anymore. It’s all good. Just wanted to voice my experience with this firm and I’m glad I didn’t have a case to give them. If I did, they wouldn’t handle it.
I was represented, successfully my Toby Lev. He worked SO hard for me, even on Yom Kippur! He helped me through every step of the way. He obtained a very generous settlement. I was and am so very grateful!
Response to Ashchan Scott's post: Mr. Scott was a passenger in a car that hit a car in the parking lot of the law firm. He was upset that the police were called.
