If I could give 0 stars, I absolutely would. Our experience of installing solar with Freedom is hands down the worst customer service experience I have ever had. Here are a few highlights of the complete cluster of an install: 1. We signed our contract on July 13, 2022. It was July 10, 2023 before our system was installed and operational. Except for when we asked in early Aug 2022 to add a battery backup, every other delay was Freedom’s fault. 2. It took 3 electricians to get the electrical panel work completed. The first electrician’s work was so bad that the inspector said he couldn’t fit all the issues on the hang tag. We had to confirm with the inspector that our home was still safe to live in. The second electrician disappeared after the first visit. I learned from the third electrician, not from Freedom, that the 2nd guy had a health issue. These things happen and I’m not mad at the second electrician, but I had ZERO communication from Freedom about what was going on. I didn't know that a third electrician had been assigned until he called to schedule. 3. Freedom sent me on a wild goose chase with my electric company related to my homeowner’s insurance. Freedom said my insurance was not sufficient but were unable to explain clearly what was needed and why. They said my personal property coverage needed to be $250k and that it was my electric company asking for that coverage. When I contacted my electric company, I found out that they were not requesting additional coverage and that they had NO IDEA I was even installing solar. The electric company contact said, “We never received anything from either Vivint or Freedom Forever Solar regarding your address.” Turns out the form Freedom had me sign for the electric company had another customer’s information on it. 4. After our installation FINALLY happened in May 2023, we had an inspection scheduled for right around Memorial Day. The inspection day came and went. No one showed up. No call from Freedom (which at this point, I had come to expect). When I reached out, I was told that they needed another electrical permit before the inspection. I explained that the work was done so I didn’t understand how they still needed a permit. After going round and round with support for nearly 2 weeks, they finally explained that it was providing proof of completion back to the city. Support told me that if I wanted to know more about the timeline, I could contact the city permit office. Finally on July 10, we had an inspection and were operational. So, after 362 days of the complete mess that has been this solar installation, I can say with 100% certainly that I will actively discourage anyone who asks me from using Freedom Forever Solar.

My husband and I were looking forward to not having an outrageous summer bill when we decided to go solar. Unfortunately that wasn't the case for us. Our inspection was back in May 18, Freedom Forever didn't make it to my home that day and therefore was rescheduled for May 24. While the panels had just passed inspection My first payment on the panels was May 15. I have been paying every month since May 15 and currently going on four months. My application is still in process with Edison. Edison first said my permission to operate would take 8-12 weeks, 12 weeks would be August 3. Unfortunately its been pushed to mid August (if I am lucky). I am currently paying for panels AND Edison for the past three months in which I wasn't prepared financially to have two bills coming in. No one from Freedom Forever gave me any heads in letting me know that the process of installation to actually being on SOLAR would take this long. I am going on four months of paying for solar and edison. For any perspective customers please note to save up by having enough money for two bills for a few months. Freedom forever should notify perspective customers a realistic time frame of payments (edison and loan for the panels) AND I believe that customers shouldn't be paying the solar panels until its been passed for Permission to Operate. I called Freedom Forever and was on hold for almost two hours before someone answered, the representative was very informative, wish I would have talked to her before signing on to solar panels. She made more sense with her numbers. Sadly it wasn't the hype everyone was selling me.

Please don't work with this company. After 6 months, my system still hasn't been turned on. I'm stuck in the waiting for the inspection step. Multiple calls, texts and emails have been unsuccessful in get them to take action. My building project is now at least 3 months behind schedule costing me 10's of thousands of dollars. I feel like my hands are tied and I have no recourse. I'm forced to just wait.

This is an interesting review because it share a bit of mixed feelings. First, the sales rep I worked with, Stan, is one of the most honest and most informational reps I have worked with. I probably met him 3-4 times in my neighborhood and casual conversation before taking the time to work with him. The second phase was the installers. Unfortunately I forgot their names, but from the install, system set up and final inspection, they were fantastic. Professional, respected the property and did really great work. So.... This is where the 1 star review begins. The office unfortunately was the worst experience I have delts with. Lack of communication, failure to file the proper paperwork, delaying the use of my system for over 2 months and the worst customer service call I have ever had. After the city inspection, I heard NOTHING form them for about 2 weeks, I reached out to SCE myself to get some type of update. A month passed from our inspection and SCE notified me that FF did not file the paperwork on their end. I have to send them that information to get the next steps going. They finally get the paperwork in, but I am sure I would have waiting months had I not do the work myself.... I get the worst call possible explaining the situation and all they do is read off the emails I initiated. No compassion, no remorse, no accountability. I hope no one else goes through the delay I am... Whomever is working with FF, I would suggest, don't trust them to get everything to SCE, follow up weekly and often, they will forget you if you wait for them. Just writing this review, I have already waited 4 days for a reply from my last email looking for an update. I know this will fall on deaf ears from them, but I hope to help out at least one person out there working with them.

Literally the worst company I have ever experienced. My sales rep was great, pricing was great.... After that everything turned into a hot mess. COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT. WE STARTED THE PROCESS IN DECEMBER IT'S JULY. 1) They FORGOT TO SUBMIT MY NEM 2.0 APPLICATION - They won't be honest about it!! I had to call SCE and sit on hold for days. Southern California Edison just confirmed they never submitted the paperwork. 2) CAN'T SUBMIT PERMITS CORRECTLY. They have submitted the permits to city multiple times incorrectly. Same thing they will NOT tell you what actually happened. 3) ROOF - We had our roof replaced as part of the process- The contractor broke our HVAC system and it was a nightmare getting the whole thing resolved. "We can't prove your heater worked before we installed the roof." That's strange, because I can pull up the gas bill and prove we have been using the heater. Worst of all, they left us without a heater & two little kids for 5+ days. 4) WORST COMMUNICATION - I will call and email, each time they just say "Oh I see your file is in permitting".... Cool but you have said that once a week for LITERALLY MONTHS. If I didn't have them replace the roof I would have completely cancelled. What a joke! They are completely taking on too many customers, can't handle the volume but CLEARLY don't care enough to hire and train new employees. In the age of working from home - don't tell me you can't ramp up your business in 90 days. THEY ARE JUST A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME.
