Heffler Claims Group

Reviews

This is the worst customer experience I've had. I have a check issued to me from a lawsuit which I deposited a bit late than the valid date due to personal vacation. The check bounced on me and my bank charged me for that. Imagine to have a credit turned into a 2X debit out of no where. So I decided to call the issuer and see what can be done. nnThe guy picked up the phone and brutally tells me that it passed the 30 day period to deposit the check and that's it. Without any empathy. I asked to talk to his supervisor and explain the situation, he rejected and claiming himself the supervisor of call center. It was not about the money that I cared, it's only about 25 dollars, but that how brutal he rejected and wanted to finish the talk. Seeing that I was not ready to drop the phone, he asked to check my name on the check, not to help seek solutions, but to CONFIRM that it was indeed my mistake to not deposit the check in time. I was extremely offended by his unemphatic manner and hope that disruptive business models that offer better service attitudes will soon take over such old-fashioned, non-respective businesses.nnBackground is that, the apartment that I've recently lived in had a lawsuit filed for them in which they should pay out to residents of a certain period an overcharged water bill. I was part of it, and was not involved with it until I see the check and looked up the Greystar water utility settlement to confirm its legality. I deposited the check 33 days after check issue date and got bounced. Even though the check says non-negotiable after 30 days, I read it as you cannot negotiate the payout amount after 30 days since it's the first time I've ever received this kind of payout check.nnThe purpose of the payout is meant to reimburse people, right? Not that they have up to 30 days to choose to be reimbursed or not. nnAnyway, the POINT being, it's the attitude and less of empathy of Heffler Claim Group that really hurt my feelings. I was left speechless at the end of my call with this person and sobbing for a while by his brute rejection and unemphatic tone and speech.
Not that it really matters with this type of business, but to the extent that you care...dealing with this firm during the Carter-Taurus settlement has been challenging at best. The website is constantly going down due to an expired certificate, the phone now appears to be disconnected during the claim period, and the settlement update emails do not always agree with the website content. Heck, the website even tells the user to go to the website. How's that for a circular reference? Only giving 2 stars because the lady that answers the phone has been helpful.
I don't understand how this company can deny to reissue a check that was received in regards to a class action case. Any member of such class action case who has been approved for reimbursement should indeed be entitled to their portion of funds regardless. To deny reissuing a check is unacceptable. Is the company you represent aware of such practice?
