Berna is a fantastic family law attorney. She was professional and did not beat around the bush. She told me what to expect reasonably (in California it’s 50/50 for everything...period ) and she was very thorough in her management of my case. She actually read all the documents that came to her BEFORE the court appearance and because of that she was able to uncover the truth. My ex was suing me to try to force me to pay for a ridiculously expensive private high school (70K+ per year). My ex had lied about what was agreed upon and then tried to use it against me. Berna read an entire giant binder of documents and caught all the lies hidden in my ex’s emails. My ex’s own lawyer didn’t even bother to read the documents and long story short the judge actually read all her documents too. The end result: judgment in my favor... which was the correct and fair outcome. The judge walked in and had already made a decision before the case even started. Within 10-15 min the judgement was in. I couldn’t believe that it worked out so appropriately and fairly.. all because my lawyer actually did her job and protected me from a guy who was trying to take me down for the count. It was the worst time in my life and Berna was my protector, making sure I didn’t get abused. She was more than fair in her attorney fees and her office staff was so helpful too. And at the end of it all Berna said, “It’s so nice when it works out like it’s supposed to. This just made my week!” Berna really cared about making things right.
