They were not even close to ready the week of closing. Despite having ample time to review our loan, during the last minutes of the game, they fell through. They asked us to do a lot of different things at the end and we did. Despite that, they said there was something else wrong in our file. If they would have told me that first I could have fixed that first. I even suggested to resolve the item first and they said don't worry about it at the time. nnWas approved two days later by another lender, but the seller had backed out by that time. I lost about 800 dollars in this transaction and a good bit of time.nnLuckily a few months later I wound up purchasing a more expensive home. I would try to work with a local company first before thinking about giving Veteran's First Mortgage a try.nnI think they turned off their Facebook reviews. Now their page lists the company as a Place of Worship???

Amazing! That is the word that comes to mind when I think about my home buying experience with Veterans First and Celeste Atkins. I have wanted to buy a home for years, but was apprehensive about taking that first step. This summer I finally talked myself into contacting someone about where I was and what I needed to do to be in the position to become a home owner. I did a web search and found Veterans First. I filled out a simple survey and was contacted by Celeste Atkins a short time later. I told her that I didn't think I could get pre-qualified, but maybe she could give me some advice on what I needed to do to improve my chances to buy a home in the future. She was so understanding and more than willing to see where I was and to offer any advice she could. She went to work immediately and within an hour or so of filling out that first survey, Celeste called to tell me I was pre-qualified and could start searching for my new home! She even put me in contact with a local realtor. nLess than 2 months after that first contact my family and I were moving into our new home! Celeste walked me through every step of the process. She knew I have a job that makes "doing business" by phone very difficult, but she even had a plan for that and we were able to do much of what needed to be done through email. She even gave me her personal cell number so we could text. Celeste went above and beyond for me as I am sure she does for all her clients. She was always available and ready to answer a question, calm a first time home buyer's anxiety, or just listen quietly as I cried tears of joy when she called to set up the closing date. nDespite the fact that her job was done after I signed those final papers, Celeste has checked in several times to see how the move went, to check on us after a tropical storm and to see how my son's football season is going. If you are looking to buy a home I would highly recommend Celeste Atkins and Veterans First!

After 3 months of "limbo" status, a lot of paperwork send... sacrifices made by living in a hotel in a monthly rate...$450.00 VA Fee, $500 on a house inspection and radon inspection, another house inspection $375.00 & $1,000.00 "Earnest Money" lost plus, $600.00 in a lawyer. Money that I won't get back...they are not familiar with veteran's paperwork. Sometimes pre-qualified, sometimes approved, sometimes not approved...they failed to verify the paperwork from the beginning to deny me on closing date. So much for helping a veteran. Wasted time, money and efforts by Shawn Snow and Stephen Mosher. Instead of doing the job from the beginning so, everything could being avoided. It is easier to rent a house or become homeless. Gave up the idea to be a home owner. Is not like I am taking the house to my grave.

My experience with Vetrens first mortgage was very professional . An Seleste Atkins was my financial helper in getting my mortgage threw VA . she went beyond an above working my loan case for me . No matter what obstacles were in the way. She was very confident in what she dose. She told me just to have no worries that she's confident that she would work with me an complete to the signing of my. New home owner ship . The small hertles on the way threw this process were nothing for Seleste Atkins . I personally think she's a Angel sent from heaven. She allways ansured my questions An an my phone calls to help me understand the process of first time home owner. If I had to do this all over again with Seleste Atkins .
