Recently this law firm wrote an article on Polygon where in they specifically and deliberately gave out blatantly false and potentially incriminating legal advice by telling readers that filing DMCAs in bad faith was legally acceptable. This in fact is very much the opposite, as established by Lenz v. Universal Music Corp., 572 F.Supp.2d 1150 (N.D. Cal., 2008). Further, filing such a DMCA can be considered perjury under the law, which can get you into even more legal trouble. Not to mention the fact that they were defending the practice of filing DMCAs against content not owned by the actual copyright holder, which is in fact a form of FRAUD under the DMCA and a federal felony. Upon contacting Interactive Entertainment Law Group they informed me that their article was not meant as legal advice, despite the fact that the title of the article, the tone and everything in the article was very much to the contrary and presented in the form of blatantly apparent, overly biased, one-sided legal advice.
