I decided to retain Jerry as my attorney after our consultation meeting. He was straightforward and genuine. He helped me navigate the divorce process. He was very responsive to my emails & calls with questions. He was also accommodating of my schedule for meetings and the court date. Jerry also said that my husband and I could come in together and discuss our parenting schedule and marriage allocation agreement. After the meeting my husband trusted and respected Jerry and decided not to get his own attorney. Jerry worked with us and facilitated our compromise. We were not interested in dragging out the divorce or going to mediation. Jerry was key in making this happen. We were divorced in a few months and did it rather economically. He did such a good job with our case that I will be working with him to develop a will and for real estate when we sell the house. I highly recommend Jerry Lazar. He is a straightforward, knowledgeable, and dependable person to have on your side.

I hired Mr. Lazar in October of 2014 for my divorce. I paid him $2,700 for the retainer which he said was a reduced amount because the process was pretty straight forward. By February I was informed that he needed an additional $1200 to finalize the process or he would have to drop the case. Not at all understanding that money doesn't grow on trees. I tried to make payments, but money was tight obviously. I gave him everything I had. So after months, I thought to myself that he never had my interest at heart and was just out to get more money out of me. And after speaking to other local attorneys. They all have heard of him and he must not finalize many divorce cases. If you are a woman seeking a divorce go elsewhere unless you have a lot of money to burn. It's a shame I wasted so much money.
