I originally retained a different local attorney to initiate my divorce. While that attorney came highly recommended, I quickly realized that they lacked any true desire or energy to help me seek the best outcomes for my children. I made the decision to terminate that relationship and retain Mr. Mallios based on his intelligence, experience and most importantly his passion. Looking back, this was one of the very best decisions that I have made in my entire life. Mallios and his team kept me informed and advised at all times. They were patient and responsive while helping me fight for a fair ruling that was truly in the best interest of my child. I can't thank John Mallios & Associates enough. Having had multiple attorney's previously, I was very skeptical upon interviewing them to represent me. But, to my surprise they were the opposite of every attorney I had seen. They took an impossible, messy custody case and actually did what they said they were going to do. Fix it! Scott, John's right hand man, never hesitated to pick up the phone to answer a question. It was service unlike anything I had ever received from another attorney. It was almost as if Scott was on stand by waiting for my emails and calls. Mallios and Associates put in the time and worked diligently through case law to build my court case. He did something that hasn't been done in Ellis County. He set a precedence for "passive contempt" in that court room. He was able to prove that actions not taken were just as relevant as those taken. The concept that NOT encouraging a child to participate in visitation with the other parent, is in the same poor judgement as discouraging the child to participate. It's truly unbelievable. My only regret is that I did not employ them sooner. If you're in the market for a divorce/custody lawyer, these are the people you want on your side.
