John was an incredible agent to work with! He was super knowledgeable on the neighborhoods we looked and the bones/structures of a home. He also provided great insight on potential down-the-line costs and how to improve resale value. He was super responsive and also proactive, constantly identifying potential houses that meet our criteria. Along with the great home knowledge, he helped talk us through the buying process, financing, and forms so we were well educated and prepared to offer a competitive offer. I couldn't recommend John any higher. Even after we purchased the home, John was incredibly helpful in connecting us to his contractor network and opining on projects we were thinking about.

John is a professional, ethical, and knowledgeable real estate agent. I highly recommend John O’Brien! I met John 7 years ago when he sold my parents a home in Wallingford. At that time, I was so impressed with him that I had to use him for myself! My wife and I started working with John in 2019. When we first met him, we discussed our dream home, ideal locations, and budget. During our first home tours, John taught us how to judge a home based on the lot, location, and layout among many other parameters. Additionally, he pointed out flaws that an inspector may notice, which is helpful. His goal was to educate us. Over the past 2 years, we looked at over 50 homes. John was so dedicated on us finding a home we were happy in that he counselled us out of buying homes when we were frustrated with the process. This has not been my experience with real estate agents in the past and I found to be very special. In the end, John found us our dream home, which in this market seemed like an impossible task! I highly recommend John; I consider him a good friend now and I plan to continue to work with him in the future! I promise you will not be disappointed.

Thanks to John's exceptional service, my wife and I have a very satisfying home purchasing experience. John is outstandingly professional, friendly, and patient. He had a two-hour long session with us to explain a buyer contract line by line. He ensured that we understood the offer we were placing. We toured over a dozen of houses and he never rushed us into putting an offer. He can point out clearly pros and cons of a house, analyze the location and provide valuable insights. During one of the tours, he even brought up a Settle LID tax that the selling agent was trying to hide. It could be a deal breaker. John helped us negotiate the final offer which saved us a few thousand dollars. He also took actions proactively to help us close the deal on time. Most importantly, John's style is to persuade you not to buy a house impulsively. He encourages us to have a thoughtful analysis and slowdown our paces in order to buy the perfect dream house. This is very different from the experiences we had with other realtors. We didn't choose to work with the agent that helped us buy our first house. However, we will be happy to work with John again for our future real estate need. He definitely earns our trust. I am writing this review in our new condo with a gorgeous view of Mt. Rainier. I couldn't tell how grateful I am to John. We would have regretfully got a less ideal overpriced condo if we were to work with another typical agent who would try to rush you and only cares about their commission instead of a long-term relationship. Not to mention that John was recommended by our best friend since childhood. And we want to extend this recommendation to all of you.

John is everything you would hope for in a real estate agent. He is honest, knowledgable, patient, and genuine. John was there for us every step of our home buying journey. He not only took the time to look at countless homes with us, but at each one he walked us through every aspect of the house through a critical lens and taught us to see homes through that lens as well. He sincerely wants the very best for his clients and doesn't want anyone to settle for less than perfection when it comes to finding their dream home. If we had worked with another agent I think we likely would have settled for a home we didn't love, but thanks to John we ended up in a home we couldn't love more.
