Have had a great experience with my Legal Shield membership with Kivel & Howard. They provide educational opportunities. When my son had a car accident they were wonderful helping me navigate dealing with the insurance companies.

I have now had two negative experiences with this firm trying to utiliize my Legalshield service. Both times that was not something they could help me with while also being awkward and not friendly to deal with. There is a reason there are a lot of these bad reviews! They are just taking the money from the companies that sign up their employees for the service while actually not providing any service!

I am not sure where to even begin with this law firm. Over the years I have been deposed in legal cases as an expert witness and treating physician. I have never been treated so rudely by an attorney as I was by “Greg”. Greg was to review a contract for me and offer legal advice about the contract, instead I got a lecture about how the current legal system in the United States should be under central control and business law should be the same in all 50 states. Greg went on to lecture me about why the US should develop a system that is centralized similar to the current British system. On top of that when I disagreed with him he was rude and condescending. I have filed a complaint with legal shield and will also be contacting the Oregon State Bar about his unprofessional conduct.

After reading all the negative reviews here, I know why I couldn’t get any help from this office. We have been using legal shield in California for 12 years, the law office in California did a great job on helping us with several requests. They were always on our side and gave us good advice, very professional, patient and helpful. But I was so disappointed with kivel &howard. The whole conversation we had was just so awkward, feels like he was on the other party's side, and there was nothing he could do. While we were talking on the phone it was very noisy in his background, kid screaming, table screeching and other noises, it’s so hard to hear him clearly, very unprofessional and unhelpful. Maybe he just didn't want to spend time on legal shield clients since we paid monthly fee instead of hourly fee. I’m going to ask legal shield to assign me to another law firm.
