Kurtanich Engineers & Associates, Inc.

Reviews

We are in the middle of a project, working with the Conservative District on The Land Development Plan and Kurtanich is now trying for the fourth time to have everything included in their submittal. The worst part is that I can no longer get a hold of anyone through email or calls. If things improve I will change this rating.
Edit 8/2/21: They have returned my call. I am on the schedule to have our property surveyed. The owner was very nice. If all goes well with a complete survey, I will change review again to higher stars. They have yet to return my call about getting our property surveyed! If they eventually call me back , then I'll change my review but as of right now, I am not impressed with their service.
There is a 85 year old fifty-foot wide "paper road" running between my parcel and the neighbor's which had never been used for anything. The property line was not clearly marked, but it runs down the center of the paper road. The neighbor felt that he owned both sides of the paper road (and then some) and continued to encroach with his grass mowing further and further onto my parcel. In the Spring of 2014 I paid Kurtanich $750 up front for some survey work on my five acres in Hermitage. I invited him to view my parcel and treated him and his co-worker to breakfast at Tiffany's in Sharpsville afterwards. I told him that my objective was to have the centerline of the paper road clearly marked. I had no intention of having Kurtanich get involved in any legal determinations regarding the paper road. Although a survey crew showed up a couple weeks after that, three months later there were still no visible markers. Kurtanich and his workers would not return my phone calls and gave no indication of when the job was to be finished. I took to staking out their filthy office which is normally locked up like Fort Knox. I finally caught Kurtanich coming back to the office with a bag of fast food and confronted him. He sent some obnoxious kid out to my place that couldn't find some of the pins they had apparently driven underground to mark the centerline. It was raining hard and he guesstimated some of them. A few weeks later, after many unanswered calls, I staked out their office again and they finally grudgingly provided me a poor quality copy of the survey which I don't believe they ever had recorded. Perplexed over their behavior and disregard for my job, I asked them if my belligerent neighbor had threatened them and got a quick and rude "NO!". If you hire these people, do NOT pay them anything until all work is completed. I noticed a For Sale sign on their property on Rt. 62 recently. If they treated other customers like they treated me, they're probably going out of business. I'll never get an electronic copy of the survey from them and if I need any more work done I'll have to start from scratch with somebody else. Very very unprofessional.
