If I could rate a negative star, I would. This is the worst attorney you could work with. If you are looking for someone who shows up late in court, smells like an ash tray, and wears wrinkled shrunk suits, than he is your match. He shows interest at the beginning, acts confident with your best interest at heart, than completely fails you. He basically has no backbone to fight for you. We went to court on more than one occassion and he rushes. He seemed to give my husbands ex wife everything she asked for. He tends to negotiate with other attorneys and does not protect his clients. He lied to my husband and I, saying our final court date was cancelled yet, later I confirmed he showed up to court without us, just to finish a case quickly and so we couldn't argue if we did not agree. We got screwed, don't waste your time nor money!

If I could give zero stars, I would. I was referred over to him by someone who works for me but if I would have researched for myself I would have seen all the poor reviews. We hired Mr. Hayes to handle the paperwork to seek primary custody of my son. He was easy to reach until he was paid the retainer. After paying him money, I had to track him down repeatedly just to find out the status of our case. The paperwork that was supposedly signed by the judge was not a "filed" document, just a copy. He said he would meet me to give me the "signed and filed" document but has not returned any of my calls yet again. The old saying "you get what you pay for" is true with Robert Hayes. I would not recommend him to anyone. We are in the process of hiring another attorney to make sure that the custody papers that he was hired to file originally have been done correctly.

Hayes seemed helpful in the beginning but we could no longer get ahold of him for anything after the first court date. Found out papers were never filed, voicemail was never set up, he took off and we could not locate him. After finally finding him and threatening to report him to the bar he says he can "file legal proof that all of our funds paid were accounted for". My husbands ex ended up taking off with his son, with our case still open, to California. Hayes states he has 5 kids. He's nothing but a crook!!!

If I could give 0 stars I would My husband filed for divorce in march of 2014.... it is now almost 2017 and yup we are still married and not because we want to be. Hayes was sweet and helpful until I paid the last of what was charged. He showed up to court to push the temp ordered and after that I have not heard from him since. I have tried to get ahold of him through phone which has no VM set up. His office says he is never there and he never responds to his email . $1500 is not cheap to someone who is a single mom especially who has just moved back to SAN Antonio... he has no problem taking the money but failed to do the job. I have since missed court dates cause I have no lawyer for my husbands lawyer to report to making it look bad on me. Not only am I in the process of hiring a new lawyer to complete my divorce I am going to proceed in the steps to get my refund which includes making a report through the bar association. I used to recommend him to anyone who asked. Not anymore!!!! Impossible to get ahold of! How he still has his license is beyond me.

Absolutely the WORST attorney! I hired him in 2014 to handle my divorce, this man/thing took my money, lied about my case being complicated, asked for more money, I had to sell my truck, he produced nothing, he was hard to locate by phone, purposely never set up his voice mail to receive messages, doodles on a scribble pad while in court, failed to give me court orders which in turn almost ended in my arrest. Took money under the table siding with my physically abusing husband's attorney (Ray Zapata, another scum bag). The most negligent, shady, slovenly thing out there!!!! By the way, he left my case in such a mess that I'm still trying to get my divorce granted and this is May of 2016. Horrible human being.!! KARMA ROBERT, KARMA!
