I do not leave many reviews, but am compelled to do so here and now because of a negative review left by another. You might guess at the relation. My version of the facts are these: Denise Martinez has represented me for 2+ years. She represented me in a very difficult divorce, and continues to represent me as I work through the legal system to deal with harassment, threats against me, my family and my co-workers, child support matters, and various other divorce-related fallout. Through it all, Denise has given me good advice, been a voice of reason, and advocated for what is best for my child both in the short and long-term. She has fought for me, but has also guided me away from reactionary responses. I should note that I'm also an attorney, and cannot help but approach being another attorney's client with a critical assessment of how they run their practice, how they are regarded by the judges and other attorneys at the courthouse, and how they treat their other clients. Denise is exceptional in all regards. She cares deeply about her work and achieving the best possible outcome for all parties from intensely difficult situations. She is compassionate, but unwavering in her values of truthfulness, fair dealing, problem-solving, and, if children are involved, keeping their dignity, safety, and well-being as the priority in her advocacy. For this she has earned the respect of her colleagues, opposing counsel (and she's encountered an alarmingly high number of them while working on my particular case), the judges, and obviously, of me as her client. I would not wish a divorce on anyone, but I am grateful that Denise was and is my attorney through this very unpleasant situation, and I do not hesitate to refer others to her.

Denise was phenomenal in working our child custody case. I appreciated her open, honest feedback as she guided us through the process, proceedings, and paperwork. We were never caught off guard and very prepared every time we had to go to court. Often times I was frustrated with the courts and shenanigans my ex-wife was pulling, Denise would calmly advise us to take the higher road and try to work with my ex-wife every step of the way. When that wouldn’t work, patiently Denise would recommend the next step until both parties could come to an agreement; urging me to work with my ex since it was in the best interest of the long term relationship for our children. Again, I was so impressed with Denise, I walked out with a handful of cards, handing them out, praising the effort and support we received from Denise and her Law Office.
