UPDATE: After I posted this review, I had a comment from the Owner asking me to email my claim number to them. After a few days, I called them since I had received no response. I talked to Matt who informed me that their Managers had looked it over and they agreed that they are not liable. He said that he mailed a letter out which I have not received yet. They have my phone number and my email, but did not have the courtesy of reaching out to me about my claim. This, to me, is very unprofessional. Now I am stuck with a busted windshield because they refuse to compensate for the damage that their client's truck caused to mine. I just hope someone can read this review and it can help them in the future. I was on I-65 South yesterday and was behind a Happy Valley Sand & Gravel truck. A rock came from the truck and damaged my windshield. I didn't PHYSICALLY see the rock come out of the truck because I was doing 65 MPH and had my eyes on the road. I was 400 ft. behind the truck when this accident occurred. I got a call today from West Bend Mutual Insurance and because I didn't PHYSICALLY see the rock fly from the truck, my claim was denied. Now I am stuck with a $250 - $300 repair. His response was it could have came from the truck's tires and therefore is a roadside hazard. I just pray that no one else is involved in an accident with someone who is covered by West Bend Mutual Insurance. If you are, unless you PHYSICALLY see a rock fly from the truck, West Bend Mutual Insurance will not cover the claim. I would give 0 stars, but there isn't an option.
Carrie or Kari however she would like to spell her name. While on the phone with her, I asked her to hold on a minute so I could get some info. She was unaware that I was still listening. If you are a professional you probably should not talk nasty about your customers while still on the phone. With all the insurance companies around I'll be sure to share my experience and highly recommend ANYONE ELSE. Very rude
Definitely NOT RECOMMEND THIS INSURANCE. CLAIM DEPARTMENT ARE HORRIBLE TO WORK WITH. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. GO TO DIFFERENT INSURANCE. NOT WEST BEND IT'S ALMOST A MONTH AND "KARI MANTEUFEL" (the adjuster) GOES AROUND THE CASE AND TRYING TO GIVE ME AN UNFAIR SETTLEMENT..... AND NOT PAYING ME FOR THE DAMAGES OF MY VEHICLE. 0 STAR
This is only the second online review I have ever left for a company, and the first negative one, but if I could leave 0 stars, I would. This firm is about dodging accountability, despite their customer's negligence. I don't know how they sleep at night. It makes me appreciative for the carrier that I have.
Friendly folks. I've never had a bad experience doing business with them. They know what they're doing and it's always a pleasure talking with them.
