Law Office Of Russell Amsberry
Reviews

Competent, caring, knowledgeable, professional, thorough, attentive, follow up, follow through and accessibility characterize my experiences with Amsberry Law Firm! I'd used them again, as I am a very happy camper and a very satisfied client.
My experience with this law firm was quite disappointing. nAfter accepting my divorce case back in 2016, these guys sat on my case for months, exceeding deadlines upon deadlines and giving me excuses after excuses. At some point, they even put my case aside and began working on other cases, after taking a considerable amount of money from me. To make matters worse, they even started working against me during the divorce procedure. I wasn't sure if they saw me as a client or as an adversary. I wish I could give them a negative star review.
Russ set reasonable fees and was helpful in walking us through the probate process. He is professional, responsible, and likable, attributes that are too rare in professionals. I highly recommend Russ Amsberry for your estate and family planning needs.
Mr. Amsberry was willing to assist me even though never personally meeting me as I live in California and had properly filed in my state. He assisted with getting a Texas dissolution case dismissed for improper venue. He was willing to work with my poor financial situation. While, I wish I could have recovered my attorney fees from the Texas court, I was still happy that he was able to successfully have the Texas case dismissed in my favor. I would definitely recommend him.
Mr. Amsberry is very unprofessional, untimely, and unaccountable. nI had hired him in October, paid my retainer fee, filled out my paperwork, only to have NOTHING done, even after multiple attempts to get a status update on my case. nWhen December rolled around I had wrote a letter stating my dissatisfaction with the case that hasn't moved. He stated that he would take care of it and later that night I received an e-mail with an attachment. Unfortunately, that paperwork had the wrong information in it and was obviously a cut and paste with other client information in it. I had mentioned it, returned it with corrections, and again it took more time to hear anything back. I had e-mailed the paralegal he had working for him multiple times asking about the status of my case, with Mr. Amsberry being CC'd, only to hear NOTHING back. I had called and left messages. I had sent messages through the portal. I had e-mailed. Only to have nothing returned.nFebruary rolled around and I had sent a certified letter stating my dissatisfaction and that I would be releasing him as my attorney and that I wanted my casefile, as well as my retainer fees, returned. NOTHING was filed with the courts until AFTER I released him, which means the clock for my case hadn't even started up until that point. Mr. Amsberry only filed my case with the courts AFTER I released him as my attorney, and then continued to come up with random unnecessary charges. It was another 2 months until I received a digital copy of a case file, not the entire file that I had requested. As far as retainer fees, I received nothing. Mr. Amsberry wrote up an asinine summary of charges for work that was allegedly completed and even double charged. Mr. Amsberry threw his paralegal under the bus, instead of taking responsibility for his firm and his employees, stating it was his employee's fault that my case hadn't moved forward.nWhen I made an attempt to go through mediation to come to an agreement for the retainer fees, he told the mediators that he would go and would call them back. He never did. They attempted to call him back, only for him to never respond or go forward. The mediation date came, Mr. Amsberry was a no show. Mr. Amsberry claimed that the retainer fees were used during that time for work that was allegedly done, even though nothing was done or moved forward, and if something was done, it was wrong or it took me to push for something to be done. nThe e-mails I received from Mr. Amsberry attacked me as a person and were very unprofessional and rude. His duty is supposed to be to his clients. He shoves them off to his team without checking up on his cases. He writes fraudulent invoices to make it seem like he's done/doing more work than actually had been done. Mr. Amsberry did more harm than good to me, not only financially, but caused more emotional distraught in my life that I did not need, both from everything he had done and through the case he was supposed to be working. nMy divorce should have been finalized in about 3 months? After dealing with him, and nothing to do with my ex, it took me nearly a year because I had to come up with the retainer again and higher another attorney.
