Absolutely despicable. District attorney and "victim's rights advocate" pretty much blamed me for a series of crimes committed against me. Treated me like an imbecile that "needed help" but had no interest in arresting and trying the low life scumbags who committed a CRIME against myself and others. This office should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. Don't ever come here expecting justice, because they have absolutely no compassion or interest in putting away the criminals. Yes, I was young, stupid, and naive back then, but that does NOT make what happened to me okay at all. Maybe this disgusting district attorney and her victim's rights advocate should learn how to do their jobs properly. You're dealing with real life victims, show some compassion and respect. Because that is not what I got at all from this horrible place.

I called the Hate Crimes number and the man who answered was completely useless and rude. I was so upset I forgot to get his name. I was calling on behalf of someone who had experienced a hate crime and the man working the Hate Crimes line picked up before it even rang so I don’t know why he made it seem like I was wasting his time when he clearly wasn’t even backed up. I was asking about the resources that are offered for hate crimes and he talked in circles when answering me and gave me unclear answers for everything. Afterwards he told me “we’re going back and forth. we’ve been talking for 10 minutes” like the hate crime was inconveniencing his very busy day. At one point he told me “hate crimes have been splattered all over the news.” It was completely invalidating and I don’t recommend anyone who experienced a hate crime to call this number. The man answering the phone is too busy wasting taxpayer money to provide any help.

This office is shameful. The community Action center does nothing for crime victims. The officer would not listen to my complaint , which I had documents to back up. He treated me like a criminal yet the real criminals seem to roam free. To get justice in NY you have to hire your own lawyer.Justice is for rich folk.

Recently, I visited here to obtain my father's arrest report. The officer who assisted me was courteous and professional, providing excellent service throughout the process.

I called that office today and had the unfortunate opportunity to speak with a A. Barosy who was very rude and discourteous. My call was to help with a potential matter they may be prosecuting. He attempted to make me feel like I was uneducated and over spoke me to the point where he hung up the phone on me when he realized that wasn't going to work. I called back to get his name and asked for a supervisor and he told me there was no one else higher to speak to. He then began to tell me that he is doing his job and I asked for his supervisor. After 25 yrs of serving this City of New York myself and working closely with many ADA's I have never been so disrespected. I truly hope that this call today 8/7/23 was recorded so that the ADA Unit could hear the way Mr. Barosy conducted himself. One other very important point he tried to tell me that his receptionist informed him that I didn't want to give my name which was untrue. I was asked a question by a male gentleman during my first initial call to that office and it was clear I wanted to remain anonymous during this call. All I can say is if I were a victim and Mr. Barosy was the prosecutor I would insist in having someone else to represent my case. He was rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. I want everyone to know from the time I filed a complaint via “311 “ about this incident to date No One has reached out to me to date 12/14/23. Clearly that is a confirmation that we as citizens here in New York City can and will be disrespected by individuals like this and nothing will be done. As a retired City employee dedicated a total of 25 years working for this city at two different entities. One of which was the NYC Law Department and the other Law Enforcement with the upmost courtesy and respect. I was very disappointed how this ADA who said that he was in a better lack of words the top dog was so rude. I’ve always given the upmost respect to the citizens of this City even when some probably didn’t deserve it. I consider myself to be a well educated person with a degree and experience working with the public an excellent example for younger woman who want to improve themselves. Don’t get me wrong I didn’t grow up without my mother provided and we lived in the suburbs pretty much. I went back to school to get my degree while I worked full time and it can be done. I think this ADA spoke to me in a tone where he mistaken me for a person who wasn’t professional or educated. When I told him I would like to meet him in person the person who was so rude over the phone he told me “if I come to that office he would have security remove me” can you imagine?
