I worked for two days and got a better offer. I felt terrible and didn't want to waste their time on further training, resigned and told Melinda Martin so and did not return. In that resignation, I offered to mail a bathroom key back (located outside of their office) and asked to please mail my check. Melinda never answered my resignation email or addressed my check status. So I called the billing woman some days later, Carolin, said she would. She did not. I waited nearly a week and called to ask the status of my check. Carolin said she gave it to Frank Martin (partner) as she was instructed to do so and said all she could do was leave him a message. I then emailed Melinda Martin and further inquired and requested a resolution. She said they were waiting on receipt of the key to send my check (which violated Illinois labor law - they can't with hold earnings they owe you contingent on any work equipment being returned etc - so that shows you what kind of lawyers they are). I told her I would be filing a complaint with the Dept of Labor and leaving reviews warning others of their unethical behavior and she did not respond. Its very petty and unprofessional to with hold a check illegally for two days work over a bathroom key I volunteered to send and have done so. The next step will be a complaint with the disciplinary agency that can control their license. It is not okay to steal wages owed. They owed me $200 over a two dollar bathroom key, nice ethics.
