I recommended Ms. Cavanaugh to my brother. Using her for his divorce may have been the worst mistake of his life. Despite going to mediation and having a report that favored him, his divorce has gone on for 2 years, and will likely cost over 6 figures in lawyers fees. A big problem is that she did not insist he seek a new judge during a brief window. The judge was represented by the opposing counsel during her own divorce. The proceedings with this judge have been very biased and dragged on well beyond normal. What's worse is he still isn't divorced and therefore doesn't have the money released from their joint assets to pay Ms. Cavanaugh. She quit and is now suing him for money that he can't get to to give her. (If she'd done her job better he probably should have been able to get divorced in 2 years!) What's sad is that if she proceeds, he will lose his security clearance and job. He served our country as a Navy officer for more than 20 years -- and sure doesn't deserve this!

Carol is a brilliant lawyer and did an excellent job in my divorce.
