Law Offices Of Melinda M Brown

Unresponsive: she didn't reply to email messages. She left paperwork (a motion to the court) on her desk for weeks although I already signed it. It took me several attempts to even find out what the status of that paperwork was. Finally, she quit without even stating a reason. All of that cost me $3000. I'm very disappointed.
I hired her with the $3500 up front to turn my separation agreement to a divorce. I was under the impression she was handling my case but it was passed down to one of her lackeys Megan Whatever. In the first showdown with my ex nightmares attorney she folded like a bad poker hand. After 4 months of chasing her down to get status she told me I should just wait out the next year when I can file without giving up everything in the sep agreement. Well that's 4 months of my life I'll never get back.We demanded our money back because we hired her not anyone else. She also made so many mistakes you wouldn't believe it. Of course she said no way until we threatened to report her to the Bar and find an attorney that's not her and sue. Then she graciously returned our money. In the meantime I'm still paying $2000 a month in alimony and other still have the cancer haunting me. Save yourself some time, money and aggravation keep scrolling past her name.
We had her do a adoption for us, it went really good, considering it was a pretty easy one to do. Mother was on board and we new dad would come forward, had her whole life so we new this would be a breeze. The only thing I would of wanted is more communication letting us know what was going on and what to expect next. Other than that they did a great job, staff was very friendly, Malinda Brown is a great Attorney. Thank You for your help.
If you want an attorney who will lay down and let the state run roughshod over her with zero objection, Melinda is the attorney for you. Didn't fight for me whatsoever. Took 7 months to get into court for a hearing that lasted 5 minutes. She just sat there and let the state provide testimony that she told me the entire time she 'wasn't worried about.' She got hammered in the courtroom. Do not give this woman your money. Terrible attorney.
Seriously, get a different attorney! Do be sure to ready any "unhelpful" review posts that you come across as well as she gets ones that she doesn't like deemed "unuseful" so that they aren't displayed or counted towards her score. I've found a few of the negative reviews hidden there. There were so many issues that we had with her, but we loved the other staff! She needs to have soo much more personal contact with her clients, verses spending so much time in many different states. It lead to SOOO much confusion and missunderstandings. Once she's decided she's done with you, she's exceedingly rude. Please note that while they say a Revocation of Power of Attorney does not have to be filed with the courts, everything I have found says you need to file it with EVERY place it may have been used - one of the issues we had. Overall, the frustration isn't worth it. But gave her two stars for the items we were happy with. If she would give her clients more one on one time with her clients there would be less confusion and issues. Hopefully her being so pissed off with reviews would tell her the amount of confusion and frustration she puts her clients through.
