I asked for an appointment to help with a PIP appeal. They were very unhelpful and didn't xa0offer an appointment until after the form had to be in. They gave me bad advice telling me to 'send it in late which would have resulted in claim being closed. I realise they were volunteers but they were unhelpful and abrupt. Later I phoned when I had to appeal but again they offered no assistance and had no appointments. I had to do it all myself with no representation and lost.xa0rnrnIt is run mainly by students who have very littlexa0xa0understanding of disabled people and benefit issues and I found them to be discriminatory. One volunteer made insulting and othering comments about the sound of my voice on the telephone which is due to disability. They don't offer any advice and won't speak to anyone over the telephone which is difficult if you are disabled.xa0rnrnThe truth is there is no help out there for people who need advice and representation. I would not recommend this law centre. They only work with certain people and don't provide a fair and respectful service to all.
