Great place to live , the apts are really nice and quiet no matter what is going on in the street.

My apartment was beautiful, my appliances worked just fine, the road noise is horrendous though, and because it's an old building they don't put in double pane windows. If they did, that place would have been 10x better. Management was great and we got our security deposit back quickly. The maintenance staff is awesome. We really liked Lester. I hope he's still there. I wish we still lived there. It's fun living downtown. Parking is a real pain though. You're better off just having one car.

Horrible noise pollution from downtown traffic and construction. I lived here for almost two years and, unfortunately, I must agree with most of the negative reviews written here already. You will hear A LOT of street noise from people leaving or going to the bars on Granby. Forget about it if you're not a heavy sleeper. There were definitely issues with the back door at times. It was frequently open or unlocked, and I agree that I felt unsafe at times. It was eventually corrected only to have the issue pop up again. Perhaps, it is better now. This will likely be an issue to deal with with most buildings, however, the dealbreaker is the noise. Paper thin walls and windows without screens. Most of the windows were old and extremely difficult to open. Basically, this place just felt unsafe and loud. And in regards to the incorrect meter readings that were mentioned in another review, if you happened to be lucky enough to move out before this was discovered you did not have to pay the "back billing." It's still completely ridiculous to me that this whole error even occurred.

The location is nice, just don't live on the first floor. Had people constantly banging on our windows, a shoot out right in front of our place and drunk people passed out on the weekends. nnThe parking is ridiculous. $50 for an additional space to fight with tourist, drunks or people working 9-5 that are in hurry to get in and out. It sucked being a local, paying money, to park on the 6th floor. I also can't count how many times my car was almost hit or I was almost hit just walking to my car.nnManagement was great at first but ever since they added the Virginia building their quality of customer service and being attentive to issues become non existent. nnI lived on the first floor and one night at 11pm walked into the main lobby to a drunk homeless man passed out. He was able to get in because the front doors on plume st are NEVER locked. Trust me. I had talked to them personally about this issue, wrote countless emails about the doors never being locked. When you are surrounded by bars this is a big concern. Once the homeless person incident happened I wrote a pretty aggressive email, still no change. Didn't even look into it. I was paying $1500 for a large studio where I consistently felt unsafe and disregarded as a resident. nnOnce we moved out we were charged $700 to replace blinds. $700. For. Blinds. Let that sink in. nnLived there for two years and I would never recommend. Keep looking.
